Facts of the Rotax THUNDeR

The high performance racing eKart Rotax THUNDeR is BRP-Rotax's first step into e-technology. It is designed for use on common kart racing tracks and requires low maintenance as well as easy handling.

  • High-performance lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2.5 kWh
  • Top performance of 20 kW and 46 Nm
  • From 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
  • Top speed of 130 km/h

The Rotax THUNDeR does not need to fear a comparison with karts with combustion engines.
BRP-Rotax is not only looking to broaden its base and strengthen its brand, but also to use the new technology to bring karting back to urban centers and bring equality back to the sport.

26th International Kart Exhibition

The Rotax THUNDeR was presented at the 26th International Kart Exhibition in Offenbach at the Rotax booth and at the DMSB booth (DEKM). There was a big interest for the product.

Challenge the status quo!

Manuel Adam

For me racing is adrenaline, fun, winning and proudness in the product without any compromise!

Manuel Adam, General Manager RIC TECH GMBH

Rotax has written and continues to write racing history – and it all started when our DNA was fuelled with the enthusiasm for motorsports 90 years ago.

Numerous world master titles in different fields and many spectacular kart championships later, the passion for racing is still in our blood and we will persevere in striving to achieve top performances.

We are adamant to continue our legacy of success and keep on staying at the forefront of technology.

Thomas Uhr, General Manager BRP-Rotax, Vice President Powertrain BRP and R&D/Operations Lynx

The Rotax THUNDeR is a quiet way to go fast – I really like the torque characteristics out of the corner. Pushing the boost button results in an unbelievable (here you could also say unexpected or surprising - whatever you prefer) amount of acceleration – I mean, wohoo!

As I have started my carreer in the Rotax MAX Challenge kart race series I am happy to be able to drive a kart again – especially such a new and exciting product like the Rotax THUNDeR.
